Categories of photovoltaic stations
The installation of photovoltaic panels on ground is for the time being the most popular application of photovoltaics in Greece, regarding mainly large photovoltaics parks.

The so called Photovoltaic Stations are categorized by current law frame according to their output. For each category, a different licensing procedure must be followed:
- Photovoltaic stations of nominal power < 500 kW
- Photovoltaic stations of nominal power between 500 – 1.000 kW (1 MW)
- Photovoltaic stations of nominal power > 1.000 kW
